Quarterly Report - If You don't Have an Age Strategy, You Don't Have a Growth Strategy (March 2023)

55/Redefined

Our voice is being heard. The need for action to promote the inclusion of the over-50s in the workplace is gaining momentum and becoming part of a wider national and international conversation.

Our Age Pioneers action panel is producing some fantastic, strategic outcomes for organisations to implement into their Age Inclusion agenda.

Age Pioneers debates and discusses the challenges arising from an ageing population. Its overarching aim is to address – and ultimately solve – the issues currently faced in the current labour market, and how this affects the future of work. If you haven’t yet joined the series, we would love to see you at one of our future events.

At our events, we come together to debate, share best practice and solve the challenges we face. February saw the first ever in-person Age Pioneers event take place in London. The theme was “Attract. Engage. Retain.” Speakers included Lyndsey Simpson (Founder and CEO, 55/Redefined), Liz Gray (EMEIA Transitions Leader, EY), Katrina Hutchinson-O’Neill (Co-Founder and CEO, Join Talent), Eleanor Mills (Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Noon) and Robert Newry (MD, Arctic Shores).

The panel debated that companies who don’t have an age strategy don’t have a growth strategy and how an impending workplace crisis was looming, due to a contracting workforce and an ageing population.
